A soap dish is just what it sounds like - a dish for holding a bar of soap. It is kept near the bathroom sink for hand and face washing.
The best soap dishes we have found are the kind that allow the soap bar to rest above the bottom of the dish itself. This prevents the soap from becoming soggy and "melting" and allows the bar of soap to "dry out" between uses, thus making the bar of soap last almost twice as long as a soggy, wet bar of soap.
We have researched the old tyme glass soap dishes of the 1800's and have come up with a dish similar to what was made by a glass company in Cleveland, NY at the time. Made of the green glass of that geographical area (due to the nature of the sand used in the production of the glass), our soap dish very closely resembles the dish used on the packet boats at the time.
Our modern day green glass soap dishes are made of recycled glass. They are perfect for bath or kitchen. The soap dish aslo has ridges to keep soap dry and out of the water.
Our glass soap dishes can have some unique uses. Don't limit yourself to soap - they can be used for business cards or to hold other goodies at your office and makes a nice conversation piece or a nice gift.
These soap dishes are made from 100% recycled glass. They measure 4" X 6" and would make a nice house warming or holiday gift with a couple of our bars of handmade soap.
